What is Illuminate Downtown Ashland?
Founded in 2017 by studio director Chrissy Reynolds, Illuminate Downtown Ashland is a community event that aims to shine a light on the important role art plays within a community. Annemarie's Dance Centre alongside the town of Ashland and Arts! Ashland Alliance partner local art and artists with community spaces both public and private.
What Does 2023 Look like?
Live audiences are welcome in the several locations around downtown to view the art, hear the music and experience the dancing. Annemarie's Dance Centre, The Corner Spot, Ashland Historical Society, Blush Bouquet, Needham Bank and Ashland Reiki & Wellness will host live performances and art works for the community to enjoy. Ashland High School Chorus, Neayong Cho, The Drum Nomads, , International Trio, The Cardinal Joe Stillitano & The Movement Project Performance Company will occupy the spaces for a night of free performance and luminaries.
2023 Community Art Project
Community residents, students and members from various organizations are taking part in the 2023 community art project. This year's project is decorating new luminaries for the event spaces downtown. The recycled bottle luminaries will be displayed for their creators to find on Illuminate Downtown Ashland night.
Are you interested in creating a luminary? Register for the free art workshop being held November 19th from 1 - 3:00PM. Workshop is open to creators ages 8 through adult. This is a great family activity. You may also drop your child off and pick up at the end.
