Teen Dance Program
The structure of the ADC Teen Program allows each student to determine the time commitment they would like to make toward their dance education. For some students it is one or two classes a week. For others it is their main extracurricular activity. Classes are offered from beginner through advanced levels.

Classical Ballet
Ballet focuses on proper alignment, technique and vocabulary. Additional attention is paid to movement quality and ballet history. We encourage all our students to study ballet.
Pre-Pointe / Pointe class
Students must have teacher recommendation. Skill level determines length of class.
Jazz
Jazz focuses on movement of the body through isolation, stretch, traveling & center combinations. Different styles of jazz such as musical theatre and contemporary are explored. This class has a strong relationship to music and rhythm.
Musical Theatre Jazz Class
This jazz class will explore theatrical dancing that combines the songs of Broadway musicals with the movement of classic jazz styles. The elements of acting and storytelling are explored.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a high energy, strength building dance class that gained popularity in the studio setting in the early 2000's. Our studio hip hop class is correctly catagorized as more of a street-style jazz class which focuses a challenging warm up followed by choreography.
Modern
This class integrates traditional discplines of modern (Graham, Horton) with the more contemporary styles. Students experience movements and techniques that are both unique and expressive. Emphasis is placed on ease of floorwork and improvisation is explored.
Technique Class
This 75 minute class focuses on the refinement of ballet technique. Students work on flexibility, alignment, musicality and the basics of turns and jumps. The use of correct vocabulary is stressed.
Tap
Tap combines rhythm and coordination to make music with the feet. Students will study tap fundamentals that may be applied to both Broadway-style and Rhythm based tap.
